Minutes of meeting.

Our yuvajana Sakhyam’s second committee meeting(2012-2013) was held on 03.11.12 at 2.00 pm in our church. Sakha President Rev. Gigy Thomas presided the meeting. Achen congratulated the whole team for the success of Onam celebration and our timely completion of the previously scheduled activities.

Miss. Blessy Joseph, treasurer, presented the half yearly accounts and the committee passed the same. Given below are the account details.

Total Income :- 1,59,849.00 (along with previous year’s balance)

Total Expence:- 51,293.00

Balance :

     Cash in hand :- 4,123.00

     Cash at Bank :- 44,433.00

     Fixed Deposit :- 60,000.00

Following are the other decisions taken in the meeting.

01. Charity Program:- Today’s committee decided to sponsor 2 students among those supported by the charitable society of our church.

02. Study class on Sacraments: - Will be conducted from Nov 04^th to Dec 02^nd. Rev. Thomas Mathew, Rev. Philip Philip, Rev. Manoj Idicula, Rev. Joby Thomas and Rev. Gigy Thomas will lead the sessions. Miss. Jerin Abraham and Miss. Feba Sosa are selected as conveners.

03. Diocesan kalamela :-  As per the instructions from Diocesan officials, this year’s Chennai – Bangalore youth kalamela will be held in our church on 24^th Nov 2012. To decide more on kalamela, today’s committee decided to call another meeting immediately.

04. Christmas Carol Program:-  Present Musical skit on Christmas carol eve.

05. Devotional Song Book :- Publish a Devotional Song Book with Malayalam - English Translation and English Songs. The book costs Rs.100.

06. One Day Retreat:- This financial year’s one day retreat will be on 26^th Jan 2013. The committee decided to enquire the availability of Sri perumpathur asha bhavan and Holistic Center, Anna Nagar. Committee requested Achen to arrange a guest speaker for this.

07. Youth Sunday :- Our youth Sunday will be celebrated on Nov 11^th Sunday. The programs are the same as decided earlier in sakhyam meeting. Today’s committee decided to give some light refreshments during youth Sunday meeting.

08. Blood Donation Drive :- Arrange a blood donation camp with the help of Rotary club on Jan 2013. On the same day, also arrange a blood group identification camp and maintain a blood group register.

09. Eco club :- Arrange a ecological seminar by Dr. George Zacharia and plant and protect some trees in our church premises.

10. One day picnic: - The postponed one day picnic will be organized as early as possible.

The meeting ended at 3.15 pm with Achen’s benediction followed by Miss. Feba’s prayer.

Sixth Annual General Body meeting of St. Paul's Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam

The 6th Annual General Body meeting of St. Paul's Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam was held on 17th June, 2012 at St.Paul's Mar Thoma Church, Adyar. 

The meeting was presided over by Rev. Gigy Thomas.

The meeting started with  Prayer by Mr. Thomas John.

The president Rev. Gigy Thomas Achen gave the presidential address and called on the members to work for God's glory. 

A special song was sung by Ms. Nia Sam.

The devotional talk was shared by Mr. Mathew K. M. and he called on all members and office bearers to work as a team as TEAM - Together Everyone Achieves More. He meditated on Psalm 1:3.

The annual report was presented by the secretary Mr. Biju Phillip and passed by the General Body. 

The audited report for financial year 2011 - 2012 was presented by the treasurer Ms. Dayana Joseph and passed by the General Body.

The meeting also elected a new secretary Mr. Sumod Cherian and committee member Ms. Nia Sam as replacement for the secretary Mr. Biju Phillip and committee member Mr. Alex George who have been forced to relocate due to work reasons.

The meeting concluded with prayer by the Vice President, Mr. Sujith M. Phillip.

Annual General Body Meeting

St Paul's Marthoma Yuvajana Sakhyam Office bearers 2012-2013

The General Body of St Paul's Marthoma Yuvajana Sakhyam met on March 4, 2012 at the Church, to elect the office bearers for the year 2012-2013. The meeting was presided by Rev. Gigy Thomas Achen.

The meeting began with prayer. This was followed by the election of office bearers for all posts.

MOM - Onam Accounts Committee Meeting - 2011

The committee meeting of St. Paul's Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam was held on Sunday (2nd Oct. 2011), immediately after the Yuvajana Sakhyam meeting.

Agenda of the Meeting:

1) Presenting the accounts of the Onam celebration held on 18th Sep, 2011

2) Finalizing the date and the venue for Yuvajana Sakhyam Camp.

3) Discussion about Magazine (Kai - ezhuthu - mazika)

4) Congratulating Kalamela Winners

The meeting was started with prayer by Rev. Gigy Thomas.

Onam accounts:

The Onam accounts was then presented by the treasurer Ms. Dayana Joseph. The details of the onam expenses and income will be updated in our blog. The committee verified and passed the accounts.

As planned earllier, the committee directed the treasurer and secretary to create the new bank account and transfer the settle the money to the account quickly. As part of this, they are to create the FD account for Jossy memorial fund at the earliest. The Jossy Memorial Fund will be maintained by St. Pauls Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam and the interest of the corpus will be given through the appropriate channel to fund education of a child.

Youth Camp : We decided to have two days camp in our church premises on 14th and 15th January, 2012. Participants from age group 15 and above are welcome to participate. The camp committee will meet separately and plan for the arrangement of the camp.

Kai ezhuthu Magazine:

The committee nominated three people for managing the magazine publication. Following members are nominated by the committee.

1. Kuruvilla Mathew - Release Owner / Publishing / Co-ordination and ensuring timely completion.

2. Content Owner - Christo Jacob George & Sujith M Philip

Finishing date of this magazine is on 31st Jan, 2012.

We also spent few minutes for congratulating Kalamela winners. The trophy and certificate will be provided to the winners on the Youth Sunday(9th OCT, 2011).

The Meeting ended up with closing prayer by Gibu and the benediction by Rev. Gigy Thomas.

Committee Meeting Saturday 5 PM June 19th

We had 5 of the members attending the committee meeting of the youth league.

Members who attended : Rev K C George, Cinchu, Ruby, Jerry, Ashish, Sweety,Gibu

Points discussed :

1) Achen suggested we have to visit the nearby slum and inquire about their whereabouts. To empathize with their day to day life.

2) Need to update the youth league members list and have a new membership drive to sign up more persons.

3) We need to organise a 1-2 day camp among our youth league members. Best time to have a good councelor guide the sessions.

4) Youth Sunday - we should visit the members of our church. Pick one or two areas and visit some of the member houses.

5) Discussion topics : could discuss on Sacrements of the Marthoma Church.

6) Assist Achen / help in activities of the church atleast once in 2 months

7) Visit Karna mission field.
