M.O.M : August 15th : Independence Day

It was Aug 15th - and the Yuvajana Sakhyam ensured the Church had enough pointers of celebrating the Independence Day. There were flags all over the church ! The Choir too sang a special number during the offertory. The service ended by singing the national anthem. Could not get any snaps yet. Will post once we have it.

The Yuvajana Sakhyam meeting went well with the main activity being practicing for the Onam celebrations. Most participants of the skit have been selected. The group song too is coming out well. Those who could not come in last week, do come in this week.

BTW the Thiruvathira troupe lead by Cinchu will be practicing today Saturday : Aug 21 at 3 PM in Church.

Wishing you all a Happy Onam !

Aug 1 : Happy Friendship Day !

First Sunday of August is celebrated as Friendship Day ! So Happy Friendship day ! However did you know it is mainly celebrated only in India, and a few other countries. ....

Even today we had 2 new members. A warm welcome to them.

Today's meeting was all about planning for the Onam celebrations. It was very interactive. Those who missed it, please join us next week. We have formed 3 committees.

  • Program Committee
  • Finance Committee
  • Food Committee

I am under strict orders to reveal nothing more than that, as far as the events are:-) So join us next week to know more.

BTW we did have a good brunch sale conducted by the Sevika Sangam before the meeting, so there was even more energy this time.

Well as if that was not enough, some of the YL members re-grouped for a football practice session. Next saturday, 8AM (unconfirmed time) we will have our matches at YMCA grounds, Nandanam. Hope we will have some crowd to cheer the team.
